Venerable Samaneri Silavaddhani
Samaneri Silavaddhani has been engaged in Buddhism since 1997 and has been practicing Vipassana since 2006.
She ordained as aspirant (Maechee) with Venerable Phra Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo as preceptor at the beginning of 2010.
In June 2012 followed the ordination as novice (Samaneri) in Sri Lanka with Venerable Rahatungoda Saddha Sumana Bhikkhuni as preceptor.
She has been practising regularly in Wat Phradhatu Sri Chomtong Voravihara since 2009 under the guidance of Khun Thanat and Khun Kathryn Chindaporn as well as being instructed as a trainee meditation teacher.
Furthermore she has organized meditation courses and lectures with Venerable Phra Ajarn Ofer in Germany, where she assisted the teacher with translations.
In October 2014 she was appointed as a meditation teacher by Most Venerable Phra Prom Mongkol Vi (Venerable Phra Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo). In May 2014 she received the "Benefactor of Buddhism Award" in the province Chiang Mai. In May 2016 she received a special award from Venerable Phra Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo.
She has lived in a Thai temple near Frankfurt am Main from April 2010 till December 2016. In the summer of 2015 she has been entrusted by Venerable Phra Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo to establish and lead another Vipassana meditation center in Germany. Since 2017 she therefore stayed mainly in Lieberose (Brandenburg) nearby the region of "Spreewald". Since 2018 she lives and teaches in Dhammanikhom Vipassana-Meditationszentrum in Heinersbrück nearby Cottbus.
Samaneri Silavaddhani speaks German, English and has basic skills in Thai.
